UniVersa Marathon Nürnberg, Germany
The city where I`m studing, Nürnberg. I arrived on Saturday afternoon, so I got the chance to visit the marathon fair. But it wasn`t very good. There was only a few stalls at the ice stadium. Around 2100 runner was signed in, but only 1800 started in the end. It`s a little bit difficult, because at all newspapers are different numbers. What is true is, that 1736 finished the course. Like the most marathons also this has got a pasta party with one free drink.
Sunday morning at 9:30 am the first Nürnberg marathon started. The weather forcast was 62.5 F (17°C) and rain. The temperatures was true, but the rain wrong. The most of the time it was cloudy, but for half an hour the sun break through. The course was, in my opinion quite nice, because the viewer had the chance seeing the runners many times. Only walking short ways. The course was one loop without two small dopple parts. The runners at the other hand didn`t like the course, because there was a lot of turns, small humps and some not concreted parts. All in one not a course for new minimum times. The boarding was all right. There was only water and iso drinks at the first half of the course. Only at the second part they have got bananas and Coca Cola. The boarding at the finish was quiet good. There was a big variation of drinks and snacks.
Because the two Marocan runner wasn`t present Schmidt Hannes won in 2:36:06. Second was Dip. Ing. Neumayr Torsten in 2:42:19 and I was third in 2:42:27. The first woman was Maria Bak in 2:54:50. Second was Andrea Stilper in 3:15:19 and third Angela Weber in 3:19:55.
