At the prestage meeting Laure had nothing important to say. So we just went over to the start photo. Then we started. As I heard later the Japanese team had problems again yesterday and today. Yesterday one of them searched for his GPS. Later they figured out that it lain on the top of the car roof since 15 kilometers. Later, when they arrived at Laverne they closed the car key into the car. In the end this morning they had another puncture.

Today we had four turns. There was less traffic and the landscape changes for a short time. It was hillier. You can see more and more small dried out river beds. Right now there was a big heat wave at Oklahoma. They did not have something like that since more than 100 years. Everybody yearned for water. When we started there was already 27°C (81°F). The wind made it feel cooler today at least at the beginning. Luckily we did not have to stay to long on the road today. To make tomorrows stage not above 90 kilometers we went further today. We passed the finish in Buffalo and ran 15 kilometers. The finish of today was at a street crossing. There was enough space to park all the cars tomorrow morning. Also there were a pavilion spending shadow, tables and chairs. In short words it was a perfect place at nowhere.

Today we stayed at the gym of the school in Buffalo. There were 5 minute noodles, fruits and yogurt served by the organization. The school had two gyms. First we should stay at the big modern arena. But there was no air-condition and we had to put off our shoes. The alternative was the training gym. It looked like a half ball and it was very cool inside. On the other hand it sounded very loud inside and had a bad air. The phone connection seemed to be better now at least for some people. The AT&T was getting better, but the T-Mobile sucked now. On the other hand we had no internet connection. Well, you can not have everything.

In the afternoon a mother with their daughter came over. The daughter was a representative from their school class. She gave us a welcome present and we took some photos with her.
