When I left the motel room this morning I saw Patrick layaway on the house wall. He held up himself. It seemed he was trying to get easy and warm up, so he can run later slowly. Yesterday at the finish line he told me that he felt again. And he also felt the day before. At the meeting Laure mentioned that there will be many turns. Yesterday it took her four hours and she needed 38kg flour to do the marking. After that she explained all the difficult points again to the supporters.

At the beginning of the day we went trough Kutztown. Then we left Route 222 to go on small side roads. They brought us to Easton. There we went over the Lehigh River and not long after that over the Delaware River. The Delaware River was also the boarder between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. So we had arrived at the next to last State. In the end of Phillipsburg we went on Route 57 which brought us to Washington. Not the capital Washington D.C., but a smaller one in New Jersey. At the start it had 23°C (73°F). But it was very cloudy and dim. Not long time later it started to rain for the first time. It was getting stronger and stronger till it was pouring with rain. After I had finished about half way it stopped again. It was also the point, when my support stopped again. Yesterday it happened again, that the last support point was not there and today also. Almost two kilometers after the point agreed I received a call from June. When she finally arrived she told me she was with the car standing on the road, but did not see me. Even I wear the bright yellow jacket. I was pissed off, took my drinking bottle and told her that I do not need support anymore for today. It was not just the support on the road. Also the car was still not cleaned up. And I think today she had to get some sleep what she missed last night. So the car will not be cleaned up again. It would be the best if I continue without support till we arrive in New York. I did not like to boarder any longer. It seemed that June told Peter immediately this time. About 15 kilometers later Bérengère showed up with her car to support me. Laure told her to do it. But just before she arrived I went to a gas station to get some drinks. That was more than enough to get to the finish line. Just before the finish line Peter and June arrived with the car. I also send them away. One reason was that I had more than enough to drink. And on the other hand I had told June that I want to be alone.

At the finish line Laure told me the news about Patrick. Serge and Philippe ran with him this morning. It took them 6.5 hours for the first 25 kilometers. Patrick stopped the race and went with his wife to the hospital. There he was checked. Even seemed to be nothing serious and Patrick went back on the road. We also went back on the road, but on the course of tomorrow. We had to drive it to arrive at the motel. It was again 20 kilometers away.
