At the prestate meeting at 4:45am Laure had to wait till all had arrived. She checked all of us, if we wear a security jacket and a head lamp. Then we said good bye to the doctor of Alexandro. From now on he only had his trainer/supporter and his photographer. James was burden a bit, because there was only one Mc Donald today. So he only can stop for a bite to eat only once. Before we started Laure mentioned that we will pass the 3000 kilometer mark today.

Today at the start it was very dark. It was also cool, but not to humid as yesterday. But that changed soon. The sun came through and it was getting hot. Just before I arrived at the finish line it changed. Then some dark clouds came up. The course was mainly on the old Route 66 parallel to Interstate 44 today. WE had to cross the Interstate a few times. The landscape was getting hillier and we had to go more up and down. The hills are covered with woods and there was less farms. On one hand it was nice to run at the small side roads, because there was more landscape to see. On the other hand it was dangerous. There were fewer cars, but they speeded and it was hard to see at the curves. After about 30 kilometers we finished the next thousand. No we had just above 2000 kilometers left.

When I arrived at the finish it was getting darker and darker. Bad rain clouds came up and you can see the lightning far away. And some runners got wet by the rain.
