Yesterday evening we searched at the internet for a restaurant with buffet. We hit the bull’s eye. At the Golden Corral they had the biggest and the best buffet we had up till now. When we came back to the room I had received an email from Laure. She sent the results and the information that the length of the stage was adjusted. Laure had checked the stage again on the pc, because plenty runners had more mileage on their GPS-clocks.

When we received our turnsheets this morning we get another surprise. Instead of more than 70 kilometers we had only 68 kilometers on it. Laure excused herself again on the meeting for the wrong kilometer information of yesterday. Then she told the supporters to be very careful, because we will pass Columbus. It was the third big city during this race.

When we started, it started to rain lightly. During the night it already had rained heavily and the roads where still wet. We continued on Route 40. It will accompany us for a while during the next days. Similar as Route 66 accompanied us during the beginning of the race. We went trough some small villages. After about 40 kilometers we had arrived at the city boarder. People with a lot of time could go for a short trip to London before. AT Columbus I saw a beaver on the road. I suspect a lot at big cities, but that? Actually the city center was not too bad. There where passages with shops and fast-food-restaurants. Columbus itself had a lot of churches from many different conventions. And if there was not the right convention, than you had an option to buy your own church. At Columbus we went trough the James Road. But actually there was no Mc Donald’s. How will James handle that? At the morning he already told, that he will simply open one. When I met June she told me that she was stopped by the police. People taking photos during driving can be happy if they only got an oral reprimand. After many stops at the traffic lights I made it trough Columbus. Reynoldsburg was just next to it, so you did not see the difference. 12 kilometers before I finished Laure called me. Peter wanted to tell me that he had finished. So June can stay completely with me. Just a few minutes after June called me to tell me she still was searching for Peter. At that time I already had done my six kilometers. Luckily it was not to hot today. The sun broke through the clouds while to while, but did not made it permanently.

10 meters before the finish line I had the last red light. At least I had some time to make a picture. Otherwise I had to stop extra for taking the picture. The finish line was just next to the motel. But we had to wait for the check-in. They where not ready yet. We used the time to go to the motels restaurant. At the Grace Grill we took a snack for lunch. I had planed to do another permanent trail at the afternoon. But there where always rain showers. So instead of walking I used the time to do some reports.
