This morning at the prestage meeting Laure warned us of all the turns. Yesterday Serge went wrong. So she asked the supporter again to stay at the turns to wait for their runner. After that she mentioned Joplin. About two months ago a tornado almost destroyed the whole city. In this context she went into a suggestion of Peter. He thought that we should give a donation for a childhood or a school. Laure told us she will find a contact person. In the end we had to vote, if the starting time will remain for Missouri at 5am or if it will be set back on 5:30am. Almost all voted for the early start. So it remained at 5am.

This morning it was very humid. Just after people started, people where totally wet. After the first half-marathon we went out of Oklahoma. Now we were going a short way through Kansas. Then we entered Missouri. Today we went a long time on small and curve rich country roads. There were trees on both sides. But they seldom give shadow. Just after we entered Missouri we reached Joplin. Or better to say, the rest of it. On 05/22 most of the city was completely destroyed. Even they had done two month of clean up it looked horrible. Some areas were still staying and not damaged housed. Other areas you can see the advance of the work and new build up houses. But at plenty areas the dredges took away the rest of the old houses or the remains which were put together on one spot. When I arrived at the finish line it had just above 38°C (100°F). But because of the high humid I was very wet all day long. As soon as I stopped it ran down all over. Even I am not used to sweet so much.

When I arrived at the finish Laure told me that she talked to somebody from a donation program of the school. He will be with us tomorrow just before 5am. Then he wants to explain us about the insert of the money. Before we went to our accommodation we had to pick up the supplies for the following five days.
